Ingredients
- 1 (14.5 ounce) can fava beans, drained and rinsed
 - 1/2 onion, chopped (optional)
 - 1/2 tomato, chopped (optional)
 - 1 large lemon, juiced
 - 3 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
 - 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
 - 1 tablespoon sea salt (optional)
 - 1 clove garlic, minced
 
Directions
Mash fava beans in a bowl using the back of a spoon or pestle. Add onion, tomato, lemon juice, parsley, olive oil, salt, and garlic; mix well.
